Previously: Starting in 1974, Pettiford has had a steady stream of prominent racing finishes in cars, trucks, motorcycles, and all-terrain vehicles. From his 1st autocross win in 1974, to Colorado Drag Bike Champion in 1979, and the Open Production Class in 1983 & 1984, and 3 time MRA top ten in 1981, 1983, and 1986, to 2nd in Class at the 24 hrs of Nelson Ledges in 1989, and 2nd overall in the Aspen 6 hr in 1985, to in 2009 finishing 4th in the 1205 Pro Class in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb on a Buell motorcycle. In 2003, he was the RMD, National Champion in T2 Class, National Driver of the Year, and 2nd in SSB Class, finishing 5th in SSB Class at the SCCA Runoffs. In 2004, he was the RMD, National Champion in T2 Class, 2nd in SSB Class, and 3rd in T1 Class. In 2005, he was RMD National Champion in T1 and SSB Classes, and 2nd in T2 Class. In 2006, he was RMD NationaI Champion in T1 Class, 2nd in SSB Class, and 3rd in T2 Class. In 2007, Michael was RMD NationaI Champion in T1 and T2 Classes, and 2nd in SSB Class. In 2008, Michael was RMD, NationaI Champion in T1, T2, & SSB Classes, and finished 2nd in T2 Class at the SCCA Runoffs. The First Driver in SCCA history to win three Division National Championships in a single year. In 2011, Michael was the SCCA Club Racing, RMD, National Champion in T1, T2, & STU Classes, and finished 4th in the T1 Class, and 6th in the STU Class at the SCCA Runoffs. Michael is the First Driver in SCCA history to win 3 Division National Championships (the Hat Trick) in a single year, for the third time. In 2012, Michael was the SCCA Club Racing, Rocky Mountain Division (RMD), National Champion in T1, STU, & SSB Classes. Michael is the First Driver in SCCA history to win 3 Division National Championships (the Hat Trick) in a single year, for the fourth time. That makes 32 Divisional National Championships, the most in SCCA history. In 2013, Michael is the SCCA Club Racing, Rocky Mountain Division (RMD), National Points Leader in T1 and STU Classes. Finishing 1st both days at the Double National at Inde Motorsports Ranch, in the STU Class, setting the lap record, lapping everyone in the class on the first day, and it was his first time at the track. In 2009, Michael was RMD, National Champion in T1 and T2 Classes. In 2010, Michael was RMD, NationaI Champion in T1, T2, & STU Classes, and finished 5th in the STU Class at the SCCA Runoffs. In the last 21 years, he has won 29 RMD National Championships. Ties the most in SCCA history. Also in 2010, he returned to SCCA pro racing and finished 7th in the Pirelli World Challenge GTS & TC Classes, finishing 3rd at the Long Beach Grand Prix in a Corvette, and 3rd at Virginia International Raceway in a Jetta GLI. His first year in SCCA Pro Racing, Michael was the 1991 Rookie of the Year, finishing 4th in the Truck Guard/Shellzone Challenge series, with 3 podium finishes. In 1992, in the World Challenge B Class, Michael finished 5th in overall points, including 2 podium finishes. He also competed in 97, 98, 2000, and 2010 for 15 starts in World Challenge, with 7 top 5 finishes.

Personal: Michael has been the President of GO 4 IT Services, Inc., since 1985. GO 4 IT Services, Inc., is a high performance safety and racing school specializing in basic through competition techniques for cars, motorcycles, trucks, and RVs, corporate events, and SuperSafety Seminars.
