The truck was recovered somewhere near Detroit with minor damage - the trailer was recovered somewhere else also near Detroit - burned to a crisp. Contents of trailer were gone. Please keep your eyes open for these cars and/or parts. Thanks!

The truck was recovered with damage near Detroit. According to the police it was obviously stolen by professional car theives. No the keys were not left in it. The trailer was found in a different location also near Detroit and it was burned to a crisp. All contents of the trailer were gone.

The Sheriff's Deputy in charge of the investigation is Mike Preadmore with the Monroe Co. Sheriff's Dept. His cell number is 734-777-4909 and office number is 734-240-7719. The case number is 21217-07.

I did not have a lojack on it but future trailers will be protected by the most powerful weapon they will sell me at the gun shop with my angry ass sitting inside!

Financially this is devastating to our little race team because insurance doesn't pay for man hours , and blood, sweat and tears. We will make every effort to go on however!

Other parts that are very specific to these cars are the aluminum 3R suspension pcs, World Challenge only stamped on the engine controllers,
Ron Davis custom oilcooler/radiators, exhaust depot beast intercoolers, Stoptech front big brakes...one set of calipers were prototypes and were gold without Stoptech logos, sealed engines from Dodge.

Both of these cars were built from street cars and do have VIN numbers which I do not have in front of me but I will post asap.

I will continue to update this info and thanks for your positive posts and for keeping your eyes open for this stuff.

Hal and Stan,

That just blows on so many different levels! Sad Keep us updated and I've got my fingers crossed the cars show up somewhere or we at least catch the people that did this.

Hal and Stan, We have a older 1990 pace triple axel 2 car 5th wheel trailer that is in very good shape (it's not a modern alum one) that we used in world challenge for a couple years, I can make you a great deal on it, rent it or even loan it to you if it will help. I also have a flat diamond plate pit cart with a tool box (mounted on it you can borrow or buy (cheap). Probalbly have an extra jack.Let us know.

P.S. I left a message on your cell, I know you are busy.

Hal and Stan, you deserve better than this... If you can put something together to get back on track, let me know if I can help.

Best of luck,

Sonny

I can't add much more then Hal and Stan have posted. The Sheriff's Deputy who responded said the guys were real pros. There was no broken glass or signs of any kind of forced entry. He said thieves will "profile" trucks with car haulers and follow them to hotels... wait a while then in mere minutes take off with the whole rig.

What really upset me was that I passed on on three other hotels because they didn't feel right (dimly lit parking, unsafe looking area, etc.) and I selected the Hampton Inn because it was a newer hotel and the parking lot was very well lit. There was even a light post right at the front of the truck!

The Deputy basically said that if the thieves really want your stuff... they'll get it. So the lesson here is to make sure your insurance policies are current and provide enough protection for you. Oh... and I guess use a toter setup so you can actually sleep with the rig!

So while logically I know I did all I could have done, that doesn't help me feel any better for the Hal or Stan. The SRT-4 program was progressing well and we were looking forward to Toronto.

But talk about a sick feeling... coming out of the hotel and seeing an empty spot where you parked a dually and 48' trailer is NOT something I wish on anyone... Then to have to make the phone call to Hal... who was starting his vacation... that ranks as one of my worst days ever!

Ken--would you have a photo of the trailer you could send me? I'd like to post this story with a pic on SPEEDtv.com. Send what you have to marshall.pruett@speedtv.com

Marshall:

I don't have any pictures of the truck/trailer. But as Stan and Hal reported, there isn't anything left of the trailer any more after the thieves set it on fire.

I still haven't recovered from this one... we have some truly sick people walking around among us out there...

Just a word to the wise...

We ALWAYS pull both the injector and starter relays whenever we pull with a production based pickup!

Pretty hard to leave without those in place...

Hal, I've just read about the loss of your vehicles.

I will provide, at no cost, a set of new shaved Toyos for each car when you're able to resume racing.
