Optima Batteries Best Standing Start Award – A Year in Review

TOPEKA, Kan. -  The standing start is one of the most, if not the most, exciting elements in motorsports and the World Challenge Championships is the only North American sports car series utilizing them. The Optima Batteries Best Standing Start Award was front and center throughout the 2010 season recognizing the drivers who gained the most positions from the start of each World Challenge race.

Robert Stout won the Optima Batteries Standing Start award at MMP.

“Ever hear what the roar of 20,000 horsepower sounds like?” said Dave Drimmie, VP, Marketing and Communications, WC Vision. “Well, that, in a nutshell, is the World Challenge standing start. And to truly recognize the skill and expertise of our drivers to navigate this drag race with 40 plus cars to the first turn of the race, our partner Optima Batteries stepped up to provide the award for the driver who gained the most positions off the standing start in each race.”
