Lawson Aschenbach at St. Pete |
After further video evidence was presented by the team during the appeal process, Aschenbach will be scored in fourth position and fined $1,000 for passing under a local yellow.
The penalties concerned sections 1.6.15.5 and 1.6.15.6 of the Pro Racing Regulations (PRR). Aschenbach was originally assessed a 60-second penalty, moving him from first to 10th place in the final results.
SCCA Pro Racing has rescinded the time penalty and instead moved Aschenbach from first to fourth in the race, behind the first car he passed under the yellow flag zone.
Crescentini, who was originally penalized $1,000 and 20 points for avoidable contact with Justin Marks during the race, was issued a modified fine of $5,000 and a loss of all points for the race by SCCA Pro Racing President Tom Campbell for violations of PRR rules 1.10.1.4 and 1.10.1.9, concerning reckless, or dangerous, driving and unsportsmanlike conduct. Crescentini was also placed on a three-race probation by the series.
