HPA-RennGruppe Motorsports Announces Volkswagen Jetta Pirelli World Challenge Driver Line Up

Lexington, NC -  

HPA-Renngruppe Motorsports announced today their driver line up for the Pirelli World Challenge three-race event at Miller Motorsports Park April 28 and 29.

Tristan Herbert of Reston, Virginia and last year’s Touring Car Rookie of the Year recipient will continue to pilot the #33 car for the entire 2012 World Challenge Touring Car season. Joining the team for the Miller Motorsports Park event will be Jan Heylen of Tampa, Florida.  Jan is an extremely accomplished driver who brings tremendous experience to the team.  Jan will be driving the #43 Volkswagen Jetta GLI.

Since the 2007 season, Heylen has focused his efforts on professional sports car racing, competing in events such as the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 24 Hours of Spa. In 2011, Jan competed in European Sports Car Championship in a Porsche, and during this time has also had significant involvement in the Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup, working with well-respected motorsports professionals like Ryan Arciero, Dennis McCormack, Clark Campbell and Mark Miller.
"We are extremely pleased to have such an experienced driver line up," said Team Manager Steve Goldin.  "Our driver line up which also includes former series champion Jeff Altenburg (who is scheduled to drive at the Laguna Seca World Challenge event) represents some of the most talented drivers in the World Challenge series today."
