SFR Enterprises to Host Two Guests at Detroit Grand Prix: Two-Time NFL Superbowl Winner and Former Washington Redskins Player Gary Clark and Twelve-Year-Old Ulizes, Reyes, Boys and Girls Club member and contest winner

Virginia Beach, VA -  SFR Enterprises will host two special crew members to the Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix scheduled for June 1 – 3, 2012 in Belle Isle, Michigan. Following a March charity event hosted by SFR driver Greg Shaffer and benefiting the Boys and Girls Club of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County, Va., his co-host, two-time NFL Superbowl winner and former Washington Redskins player Gary Clark, and club member 12-year-old Ulizes Reyes, will join the SFR team for the next Pirelli World Challenge races at the Detroit/Belle Isle street course.

Reyes was chosen as the essay contest winner of the “Fueling a Future” project by Shaffer and Clark. He and his mother will receive an all-expenses paid trip to the Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix, where Reyes will:

- Wear an SFR team uniform – Pirelli World Challenge, Nissan Factory Team apparel

- Accompany drivers Ric Bushéy and Greg Shaffer during the official autograph session.

- Serve as an honorary crew member on pit lane.

- Experience the racetrack first-hand, riding in the official Pirelli World Challenge pace car for the Parade Lap Ceremony.

“I have a special place in my heart for the kids at the Boys and Girls Club. They have a tougher time in life than many others and I feel blessed to be able to make a difference,” said Shaffer.

The event was the brainchild of Shaffer and Clark, friends who share a passion for intense sports and inspiring local youth. In early 2012, they joined forces to create the “Fueling a Future” project and within weeks, plans were formed with the local Boys and Girls Club to fund the trip of a lifetime for a specially selected child to the Pirelli World Challenge Detroit Grand Prix in early June.

The Boys and Girls Club then held an essay contest that helped determine which club child illustrated the greatest determination to turn a dream into reality. The winner, Reyes, was announced at the March 31st charity event, held at Harrisonburg Nissan.

Approximately 100 people attended the event, which include a showing by the #52 370z, as well as the SFR team and other former professional football players including Ravin Caldwell, two-time Superbowl champion and former Washington Redskins player; Clarence Vaughn, two-time Superbowl champion and former Washington Redskins player; John Wade, former offensive lineman for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Oakland Raiders; and John Booty, former player for the New York Giants, New York Jets and Philadelphia Eagles. An iRacing© Racing Simulator and silent auction rounded out the function, which raised over $9,000.
