The team will campaign two Mercedes Benz C230’s in normally aspirated configuration. Significant modifications to the C230’s have been undertaken over the winter months to ensure that the cars are contenders in 2005, including major weight reduction and a switch to Moton shocks.
“The development of these two cars without factory assistance has been an extremely demanding and challenging exercise,” states Team Director, Peter Lockhart. “Our goal for 2005 is to finally develop a package that met or exceeded the standards set by the long standing Series leaders. At great expense and with a huge investment of time, I believe that we have finally reached that objective. Now that we have driveline reliability, comparable power, competitive weight and suspension, we look forward to running up front and spending some quality time on Speed TV’s excellent coverage of the Series”.
Drivers for the 2005 season have not yet been confirmed. Testing of the 2005 package will commence at Moroso this week. Drivers with budget interested in discussing a season long or race-by-race association with the Team should contact Team Director, Peter Lockhart at 954.943.5000 ext: 12229, cell: 754.224.6441 or by email at plockhart@autohauspompano.com.
